問題文 僕が今履いている靴は古くなって、水が入る。
・今はいている靴：the shoes I am wearing/putting on now
・古くなる：be old
→ここで言う「古くなる」というのは、「古い状態にある」という意味のため、”get old”ではなく、”be old”が良いようです。
→古い状態を具体的に言うと以下の表現があります。
ボロボロになる：be worn out
破れがひどい(状態)：be badly torn
傷みがひどい(状態) ：be badly damaged
・水が入る：get water in
→ “the water get in” で「水が入る」ですが、何かの行為・状態により、水が入って来る場合は get/let を使って表現も可能。
→ “let ～ in” の場合は、「水が入ってしまう」という受動的な意味合いです。

– ‘are old enough’ means that they are sufficiently old and is not quite correct here
eg:

– the coat was so wet that water was running off it on to the floor’ - ‘and let water in’ is the phrase you want here
or you could say ‘my shoes are so old that they let the water in’
