問題文昨日はたくさん手紙を書かなければならず、近くを散歩する時間もなかった。

・～する時間が無い：not have time to do

・近くを：around the neighborhood

・散歩する：take a walk, go for a walk

I didn’t have time to walk nearby because I had to write a lot of letters yesterday.

Better to change “walk nearby” to “go for a walk”. This is more natural because it is more general. This indicates that where you “went” is of no importance. What you are emphasizing is what you “did”.
Put “yesterday” after “walk”. This is easier to follow and understand. It tells the reader “when” this was happening. When we write important (scene setting) words like “yesterday” at the end of a sentence, the reader has to read back and replace everything into a different setting.
