・駅を出る：exit/leave the station

・他のグループと一緒になる：join other groups

・海の方へ向かって歩く：make ones’s way to the beach

When I went out of the station, I got together with other groups and started to walk toward the beach.

Grammatically, the sentence is correct. However, “when I left the station” or “when I exited the station” is more common than “when I went out of”.
