僕の英作文
She peeled the apple, cut it into four, and removed the core as if she was a skillful cock.
ネイティブからのアドバイス
- There is a spelling mistake, which I believe may have been a “typo”. Therefore, I have corrected “cock” to “cook” as it is obvious from the context that you mean “cook”!
- I have suggested “skilled” instead because this adjective refers to workers who have a lot of experience and/or training, perhaps formally. The adjective “skillful” or “skilful” refers to being expert at a particular job but perhaps there was no formal training or experience related. Therefore, if you are referring to a professional cook, I feel that “skilled” would be better here.
- I have omitted the comma before “[…], and removed the core”. This is because the linking word “and” replaces the comma. When we list things, we use “and” before the last item in the list.
- It is more natural to use “were” instead of “was” when we are talking about a hypothetical/imaginary or possible situation. This can include giving advice where the person giving that advice states that he/she would do something if she/he were the person she/he was talking to or about.
